Team Blog + Individual Blogs!

Hello there...it seems rather quiet on this blog (maybe it's the black background?).

Well I'm Tiffany and I -sort of- just stumbled upon this blog. I have exciting news to tell all of you! We're going to now have individualized blogs that are going to be more laid-back and less professional. We'll take every reader into the lives of each core Fe Maiden. The idea first came up during the New York State Fair when we met and bonded with Team 1511 The Rolling Thunders. What do you do when you make friends with someone who lives hours away? In most cases, nothing and you will never get to talk or hear from them again aside from those annual competitions. Blogs solve that by creating connections among teams.

As women engineers, we want to get our unique perspective of Robotics out there. I hope this idea works out well. I'm personally hyped up for it!! I know all the members of this team, some better than others, but I definitely know that each and every one of them is friendly, approachable, fun, and intelligent. We all have something to say too!!

Comment on what you think of this idea :D

  1. Hmmm how so? Could you expand a little more on the idea of "individualized" blogs? Instead of reports, you mean, more opinions on changes being made within the team and such? How does making the blogs more "individualized" connect us to other teams? I don't think I quite understand it...

  2. I think by becoming more individualized, we can show everyone not just who we are as a team but who we are as individuals. I think (and I hope) it's more opinion based. The blogs can connect us to other teams because they can see us as individuals and maybe if we include them into our blogs (can we ?) they might give us some really helpful tips and give us their imput as well.

  3. When I said laid-back, I meant that they will be more opinion based. They can be about what goes on in Robotics as well as what goes on in our school lives (e.g. Here's my killer schedule --- I swear I'm not committing suicide!!)

It allows people from other teams to see that we're real people and not just faces in the crowd. This way, many teams will feel closer to us without actually knowing us (meaning we can try to prevent something like the guys not getting picked in Georgia).
